Dear applicant to a MIT-Portugal Program PhD scholarships:

The MIT-Portugal Program is changing its procedure for application to PhD scholarships. The 2007 competition has closed as of 2 April 2008.

The 2008 competition will open under the terms of a new announcement ('edital') on Tuesday April 8 at noon.

In order to become a candidate to the MIT-Portugal Program and start a PhD program in September 2008, you must complete application forms both at the FCT site and at the Program site. Proceed as follows:

0) Review the new Notice (Edital) at

1) All applicants, irrespective of having submitted or not their application prior to April 2, need to access their application form at the

http://concursos.fct.mctes.pt/bolsas

web site and check if all the relevant data has been successfully migrated, make changes taking into consideration the new rules, and submit/lock the form.

The technical services at FCT will try to migrate as much data as possible from the old format but due to the different characteristics of the application this, in general, cannot be fully automated.

Remember, that in order for your candidacy to be considered, you must complete all these steps above no later than 15 April 2008.

We also wish to stress that from now on MIT|Portugal scholarship applications left unsubmitted and inactive for a period longer than 9 months will no longer be considered in future evaluation periods and no particular effort will be made to warn such candidates.
