GIS and Biodiversity Databases Technician

The Biodiversity and Global Change Lab
(www.biochange-lab.eu) seeks to hire a highly
motivated and skilled GIS technician with experience
in digital elevation modelling and spatial analysis.
Some knowledge of
database management is also welcomed. The technician
is expected to collaborate in several climate change
and biodiversity related projects, and support
researchers and students in the lab.

Affiliation: Museo Nacional de Ciencias Naturales in
Madrid, CSIC
Period: Three years, starting before March 2007.
Salary: Starting around 25.000 ? per year. (exact
salary according to CSIC standards)

We ask:
-Experience with GIS, analysis of digital elevation
models and geostatistics. -Knowledge of a programming
language.
-Experience with databases and/or SQL. -BSc/MSc in
Biology, Environmental Sciences, Geography, or related
topics. -Spanish and English as a first or second
language combined with excellent writing skills.

Técnico en SIG y Bases de Datos de Biodiversidad

El Biodiversity and Global Change Lab
(www.biochange-lab.eu) busca un técnico en SIG
altamente motivado y preparado con experiencia en
análisis espaciales y modelos digitales del terreno,
así como algún conocimiento sobre el manejo de bases
de datos. El técnico colaborará en varios proyectos
relacionados con cambio climático y biodiversidad,
dando apoyo a los investigadores y estudiantes del
laboratorio.

Afiliación: Museo Nacional de Ciencias Naturales, CSIC
Duración: Tres años, a comenzar en Marzo de 2007.
Salario: Alrededor de 25.000 ? al año. (remuneración
exacta según convenio CSIC)

Buscamos:
- Experiencia en SIG, análisis de modelos digitales
del
terreno y geoestadística.
- Conocimiento de un lenguaje de programación.
- Experiencia en Bases de Datos y/o SQL
- Licenciatura/Master en Biología, Ciencias
Ambientales, Geografía o áreas relacionadas.
- Español e inglés como primer y/o segundo lenguajes,
en combinación con buena capacidad de escritura en
inglés.
